<p>We are particularly pleased to share the recent publication by Prof. Béatrice Gulbis and colleagues in The Lancet Haematology describing the achievements and future challenges of the European Reference Network for Rare Haematological Diseases (ERN-EuroBloodNet), a network dedicated to rare haematological diseases. This initiative, which brings together 12 EU Member States, has made it possible to strengthen existing collaborations between the various European centres of expertise and to create new ones in order to optimise the care of people suffering from rare haematological diseases, including sickle cell anaemia.
