Op 6 november vond het 8e jaarlijkse symposium van het LHUB-ULB plaats, gewijd aan de ontwikkeling van het laboratorium rond twee belangrijke thema’s: de bijdrage van automatisering en kunstmatige intelligentie aan de microbiologische diagnose van darmparasitaire aandoeningen, en de nieuwe mogelijkheden die het vervoer van monsters per drone biedt. Naast de routineactiviteiten draagt de LHUB-ULB ook bij aan de ontwikkeling van innovatieve benaderingen voor een betere diagnose, preventie en behandeling van ziekten die in de verschillende aangesloten ziekenhuizen worden aangetroffen. In dit licht werd begin 2018 een transversale dienst voor technologische innovatie (UNIT - Unité d’Innovation Technologique) opgericht, die de samenwerking met de academische wereld, private structuren en bedrijven moet versterken. Een arts of verpleegkundige kan bij u thuis langskomen als u niet in staat bent om naar een van de afnamecentra te komen die bij onze activiteiten zijn aangesloten.
